Future Goals
As I look back on the past three years, I see so many lessons. I have many future goals, as I have said throughout, I feel very fortunate to have had a "second calling"in life to educate and use the many, many years of dealing with humanity to help elevate my instruction. I do know that I can and will benefit from more formal education. I am currently pursuing my Baccalaureate in the Science of Nursing (B.S.N.) I feel this will guide me especially when assisting my students. I will be able to instruct them in a more knowledgeable manner as most of my students majoring in Nursing will be applying to colleges for 4 year degrees.
I will be taking my last course needed to obtain my Certification In Professional Teaching this summer and will then be taking the test for certification.
I would like to obtain my Masters in Nursing Education after my BSN as this will also allow me to participate in teaching the college credit program. I know our New Visions Health students look to get college credits in high school.
I have been participating in Present and Practice with Jacqueline Levine and I will be doing many more offerings through school leadership.
I have always loved learning, right now I am studying to become certified as a Peri-anesthesia Care nurse, which requires a 3 hour certification test. That is coming up in May 2021 for me. As an R.N. we have always been required to continue our education and I look forward to doing the same for my teaching career. I would also like to take a course for educating gifted students as I feel this could assist me in presenting more challenging lessons for our New Visions Health students.
My goals are to create a learning environment that is not just warm and secure but is also a place of high achievement, so when you leave my class at the end of the year, you will be walking away with the knowledge and also the drive and ambition to put it to good use! I am looking forward to achieving these goals and evolving into the role model that I envision, an educator that will be remembered not just for kindness but for excellence!
