Cultural diversity
This has been one of my favorite and more creative projects. The students take apart the chapter on different cultures and religions from the Diversified Health Occupations textbook. I really enjoy hearing about the differences in cultures which inevitably ends up with everyone talking about their own cultures. It culminates in a Cultural Snack Party, everyone brings in a food from their nationality and we all enjoy!! Learning what we need to learn and having fun and enjoying one another is a great combination!
National Technical honor Society
This is absolutely one of my most favorite ceremonies that the Tech Center holds. I was very impressed that PNW BOCES had an Honor Society and I highly encourage, actually I kind of make it a requirement for my New Visions Health students to apply for this honor. It is a gorgeous ceremony and I am looking forward to when we can have this ceremony in person again. I also have reached out to Amanda Keenan to volunteer in any capacity needed.
Guest Speakers: Dr.Wallach cardiologist; Melissa Crea World of Work; Blood Drive Prep; Ambulance day w/Mr. Cuomo; Nuclear Medicine Talk

I am still nursing at Northern Westchester hospital. My unit is PACU (post-anesthesia care unit) also known as the Recovery Room. I work per diem as I am committed to BOCES, but I do like to stay current in my nursing skills and certifications such as ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) and PALS (pediatric advanced life support). Last spring I was called in to work in the Intensive Care Unit during the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic, it was something I had NEVER experienced before, but we made it through and I now have great stories and lessons for my students! I am very proud to have an extremely supportive and wonderful family behind me, including my 2 parents and my mom-in-law, 2 of my 3 children are teenagers which I feel does give me a deeper understanding into my own students and what they are experiencing these days.
